Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is soaking up her newfound fame by living out her childhood dream of meeting ex-N*SYNC-er JC Chasez. A longtime fan of the former boy band, Gaby at one time even expressed that she wanted Justin Timberlake to be her date to the Academy Awards. She instead brought her mom. But on Tuesday, the 'Precious' star did have a chance to dance her heart out with JC at a taping of MTV's “Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew," where the former Mouseketeer serves on the judging panel. When she was told that the admiration was mutual between herself and JC, she said, "Wow, what kind of world do I live in now?!" The guys of the top 16 sang for their "American Idol" lives on Wednesday night, and one of them moved judge Kara DioGuardi to tears! Lee Dewyze kicked things off with "Fireflies" by Owl City. "It was a strange song choice … but you made it work," Randy Jackson praised. Ellen DeGeneres told Lee she thought he was "great," while Kara called the performance "solid." Simon Cowell popped the pleasantry balloon, saying, "There's nothing to rave about after that." Next, Alex Lambert stirred up Ray LaMontagne's brand of "Trouble." Randy called the tune a good song choice, but admitted he wasn't "wowed" by the performance. Ellen said she detected Alex improving rapidly and called him a "mushy banana" because he was "ripening" so quickly. Kara was more critical, saying, "You have so much … but you are still stiff and you're not in it." Simon agreed, leveling, "We've never seen you relaxed or having a good time." Tim Urban broke out an acoustic guitar to strum Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah." Randy deemed it a "pretty good job," but Ellen took the praise one step further, racing onto the stage to give Tim a big hug and yelping, "That was fantastic!" Kara called Tim's rendition an "honest interpretation" of the song, while Simon said the song choice was "very, very smart" and told Tim, "For you, it was terrific." Andrew Garcia then threw one of his trademark curve balls, uncorking Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle." "It didn't quite work for me, dude," Randy told him. "The genie came out of the bottle too late," Ellen commented, elaborating that she felt the song didn't get cooking until the end. Kara confessed she was "disappointed" and felt Andrew was "fighting with the rhythm of the guitar." And Simon called the song choice "a little bit desperate … you're kind of still going backward at the moment, I'm afraid." Next, Casey James mellowed out with Keith Urban's "You'll Think of Me." Randy was underwhelmed, calling the song choice too safe and urging Casey to "go for more edge." Ellen disagreed, saying, "That feels like your vibe to me." Kara, meanwhile, said she was "kind of back on the Casey train" but admitted "I'm missing that spark." Simon called the showing Casey's second best but doubted it would be memorable. Sixteen-year-old Aaron Kelly tackled Lonestar's "I'm Already There." "Still some work to do, but job well done," Randy complimented him. Ellen liked Aaron's confidence, but said the tune was "a little too much song" for him to handle. "It's not relevant to your life," Kara said of the song's lyrics, prompting Simon to call her criticism "rubbish." "It was the right type of song for you to do," the Brit wit told Aaron. "It wasn't a great vocal, but what it did have was emotion." Todrick Hall belted out the Queen classic "Somebody to Love" to mixed reviews. "Dude, what you did just there is you proved you could really sing," Randy enthused. Ellen called the song a brave choice and called the performance a "good job." Kara thought Todrick's singing might have been overly "dramatic," but admitted, "You can't listen to that and say it wasn't good singing." "It was good in parts, not the whole way through," Simon weighed in, adding that he felt Todrick might have more potential as a Broadway singer than a recording artist. Finally, Michael Lynche hit a definitive high note performing "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell -- and he made Kara weep in the process! "I've never cried after hearing something like that," she gushed, adding in trembling voice, "It brought me to tears." Her fellow judges were equally enthused. "For everybody that doesn't know, it was dope," Randy raved of the performance. "Oh my god, that was so beautiful," Ellen sang. "This was so needed tonight," Simon said in conclusion. "You came out with an incredibly difficult song to sing and you 100 percent nailed it." Tune into "American Idol" Thursday night at 8 p.m. on FOX to see which four hopefuls get sent home!

Corey Feldman spoke out on "Larry King Live" Wednesday night about his best friend Corey Haim's death. Feldman had strong words for those who have assumed that Haim's death was drug-related: "The first thing I need to say is, people need to stop. They need to stop jumping the gun. They need to stop saying it's a drug overdose. They need to stop saying, you know, their theories of what they think it is or isn't." "Because at the end of the day, until the coroner's report comes out, until we have specific evidence, until we know exactly what the toxicology reports say, nobody knows," Feldman continued. "And nobody is going to know." Feldman said that Haim had recently been helping to care for his mother, who was fighting cancer, and said that when it came to his friend's drug battle, "I know that he was fighting the good fight." He said of what could have caused Haim's death, "I know that there were symptoms that he was showing that -- that expressed it could be a number of things. You know, this could have been a kidney failure. This could have been a heart failure. ... This could have been a mixture of drugs, it could have been a cocktail that's specific or it could also have been the fact that, you know, your body shuts down after years of abuse. ... I know that he was recently seeing a treatment specialist who was new in the mix, who he had only been seeing for the past two weeks. And that treatment specialist put him on a new line of medications, which were special medications. I'm not going to go into what they were, but let's just say that they may not have corresponded properly with the medications that he was currently taking." Feldman also criticized the culture, that according to him, had turned its back on Haim: "The trouble, for me, Larry, is that I appreciate the fact that everybody really cares and is trying to show their expression of sorrow right now. But at the end of the day, Larry, where were all these people the last 10 years, the last 15 years of Corey's life? Corey was living in [a Los Angeles apartment complex] with his mom, very broke, very destitute. ... He didn't even have a car." Feldman asked, "Where were all these people to lend a hand out, to reach out to him and say, you know, you're a legend, you're an amazingly talented, wonderful person who's really never gone out of his way to hurt anybody other than himself. He was there for his mom and he took care of her. He's always been a good person." Feldman recalled fondly, "He's the only person in my life that could really make me laugh -- laugh to the point of tears." "Hopefully, he's going to be remembered as a beautiful, funny, enigmatic character who brought nothing but life and light and entertainment and art to all of our lives," Feldman told King. Feldman said that funeral plans are still in the works, but that he hopes to plan a "sizeable memorial." Actress Nicole Eggert, who dated Haim many years ago, spoke out to King as well. Echoing Feldman, she said that the outpouring of love for Haim following his death is "a little late." "I think that if people realized that he would have liked to have heard that when he was here with us, it would have maybe made a difference in his life," she said. Haim's agent Mark Heaslip also appeared on "Larry King Live," and said that Haim was doing really well in his drug battle and had given no indication that he was abusing drugs at the time of his death.
